Most of our projects fall into one of five types:

  1. Self organising communities looking to map themselves and move together towards the next phase of funding or development.

  2. Organisations using maps to help them with the ongoing process of understanding and working with the layers of the community they are working in.  

  3. Organisations looking to make visible the relational infrastructure that their programme is already building, and simply need the maps to be generated on a regular basis to show the detail.

  4. Organisations who need to do community building, and use our map insights more actively to see where to make connections, start projects, weave in the margins and break through the relational gatekeepers.

  5. Organisations looking to shift systems by mapping a whole problem space across traditional sector boundaries and using our analysis to find the structural fragmentation and leverage points that block systems change.

Every project type requires the basic structure of the Facilitated Delivery package, and beyond that we offer supplementary services that deliver the technology in the most appropriate way for your project type.

  • This is our core offer. It includes access to the technology, and our team guiding you through the key phases of a mapping project. This ensures our toolkit fulfils your needs for a short term and impactful project.   Most projects add elements of the Supplementary Consultancy list below.

    • One meeting with us to explore your community questions and build your bespoke question set that gathers all the data you need.

    • Views and Analysis signed off to ensure the map’s insights fulfil the brief.

    • A manual for you to run your own mapping workshops (or you can hire us to run them for you).

    • A dynamic relational map generated within a 1 hour workshop.

    • Instant analysis accessible within that first workshop.

    • We clean up the data with your input.

    Analysis:

    • A dedicated meeting to share Views and map insights.

    • One Strategic View for strategic community building insights.

    • A set of recommendations for community building.

    • Two Community Views for the community to take distributed action.

  • Community understanding and building, evidencing relational infrastructure, and shifting systems all require a bespoke combination of the below services on top of the Facilitated Delivery package.

    • Engaging a community steering group in Question Set design (2 meetings)

    • We run the mapping workshops for you

    • Deeper Partner-only strategic analysis

    • Community analysis

    • Community engagement workshops

    • Re-Mapping on a yearly basis

    • Change Over Time Analysis and Report that looks at how patterns of collaborations, trust, and resourcing have changed over time.

  • This tier sees us mapping at the beginning of your programme and then once every 12 months for the duration of the programme.

    The structure allows us to work dynamically with the maps, meeting with your community representatives on a quarterly basis to absorb new relational patterns and embed the insights from the Map Action Plan in response to what’s actually happening on the ground.

    For this type of multi-year project, we would expect to work with community engagement specialists, peer researchers or another type of community representative.

    • Communications support to the wider community to grow the map further using workshops and remote links.

    • A Map Report and Action Plan that builds the map insights into a community building plan.

    • A year long map analysis and community building programme that uses the Report and Action Plan, community conversations on the ground, and bespoke Views, implemented as quarterly workshops.

    • GDPR compliant map access for all, for 1 year.

    • Re-Mapping after 1 year.

    • Views that look at how collaborations, trust, and resourcing has changed over time.
